Salvia officinalis (L.)
Sage originally comes from the Mediterranean; today, sage is specifically cultivated in many countries, including Switzerland. The name derives from the Latin verb “salvara”, meaning “to heal”. Sage is also known for its deodorizing property. In deodorants, it inhibits perspiration and eliminates unpleasant odors by combating bacteria.
